How Trump Sees Trump: The Chosen One; Only One; One and Only; Just Trump

If I broke then only I can fix it
(Believe me)
Whew boy - please say that's not true

The one single problem in America today is NOT the DEMS or President Joe Biden – not one bit.

That only exists in wild GOP circles of hate and discontent as Trump pedals his “Big Lie” that Biden did not win in 2020 – he did because the 2020 election, even before the first vote was cast and according to Trump’s own words: “Was rigged against him.

Now that – his sustained “Big Lie” and boy oh boy has Republicans seeking to stay in office, or to gain a seat in office, fallen for Trump’s con, hook, line, and sinker as reported on here from NBC News with this headline – that this is what is wrong with America:

Trump's stolen election lie is on the ballot in 2022, thanks to these candidates

The future of all U.S. elections is on the ballot in 2022, largely because Trump can’t let go of the past losing 2020 by over 7 million votes – a simple fact – just look at him over the nearly past 12 months.

In his own words – not mine: “The single biggest issue — the issue that gets the most pull, the most respect, the biggest cheers — is talking about the election fraud of 2020’s presidential election.”

Trump recently said that at a rally in Iowa, again pushing the “Big Lie” that a second term was stolen from him and that Joe Biden is not the legitimate president.

Now with all that listed below what can we see as Trump's #1 goal?

Simple: Get as many as possible Trump like-minded people in office so that they can and will make sure (he hopes) that he and the GOP will never lose another election like they did in 2020.

Here is Trump’s plan and all the elements he is putting in place for 2022 races for Governor, Secretary of State, seats in Congress, and all the way down the line even to state legislative seats.

Republicans up and down the line are all eager for Trump’s support and thus, they have embraced his wild baseless claims and the 2020 election “Big Lie.”

The overall issue that is animating is the campaigns for Secretary of State — which is the office of a state official who in many states oversees elections — and in electoral battlegrounds that narrowly backed Biden over Trump in 2020, and that which will be hotly contested again in the 2024.

FYI: Races for Secretary of State are typically sleepy affairs, with lesser-known candidates who are dependent on their party’s nominees for governor or Senate to carry them across the finish line.

Trump’s involvement could change that, said Trey Grayson, a Republican and former secretary of state in Kentucky, adding:He appears to be picking his own team based upon the criteria that I’ll call the lie about the 2020 election. I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like this.”

Consciously or not, voters could render a final judgment on the conspiracy theories that Trump and his allies have spent 11 months nurturing. So, who are those Trump sycophant candidates who are adhering to his “Big Lie” and sustained con?

Let’s take a look at a few key races – [edited from the main story page to fit the blog’s theme and format]:

Ohio U.S. Senate Race: The seat is currently held by Republican Senator Rob Portman, who is not running for reelection in 2022. Portman is considered a moderate among GOPers, and he has a gay son. Republicans running besides Josh Mandel (Trump’s choice it seems thus so) also include J. D. Vance, author of the best-selling book “Hillbilly Elegy” and Ohio Republican Party Chair Jane Timken.

The focus is on Josh Mandel, who has made the stolen election lie central to his campaign, told NBC News: “I'm the only candidate in this race who's willing to stand up all over Ohio, and all over America, and say that I believe the election was stolen from Donald J. Trump. It’s the right thing to do for our country. I don't care how it impacts me politically.”

Mandel, a former state treasurer, also has called for 2020 election reviews in all 50 states, including Republican-controlled Ohio, which Trump won by 8 points. He downplayed the suggestion that, by questioning the validity of election results everywhere, he risks discouraging Republicans from voting. Yeah that Josh Mandel (here is more background on him).

There are several contenders for the Democratic nomination as well, with the most prominent being U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan. The party primaries will be held May 3 and the general election in November of next year.

I say Rep. Ryan will take it all the way.

In Arizona’s race for Secretary of State, Trump has endorsed Mark Finchem, a state legislator who promoted a partisan review of Maricopa County’s election results that reaffirmed Biden’s victory.

In Georgia, Trump is supporting Rep. Jody Hice in a Republican primary to oust Brad Raffensperger, the Secretary of State who resisted Trump’s pressure to rig the state’s 2020 vote in his favor. In Georgia, Hice has held himself up as an unabashed Trump defender saying: Nobody understands the disaster of the lack of election integrity like the people of Georgia, and now is our hour to take it back. We got incredible leadership from President Trump, and we need this kind of leadership again.”

In Michigan, Trump is backing Kristina Karamo, a Detroit poll challenger during the 2020 election, for Secretary of State where Democratic incumbent Jocelyn Benson and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are his top GOP targets next year. Karamo headlined a rally Tuesday at the Michigan Capitol, where speakers spread disproven voter fraud theories and demanded an Arizona-style election review.

Governors’ races that have Trump’s attention:

In a crowded GOP primary in Arizona, Trump recently endorsed Kari Lake, a former TV news anchor who said she would not have certified Biden’s victory.

Although he has not yet endorsed a candidate in Georgia, Trump has vowed to unseat Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, who like Raffensperger refused Trump’s calls to undermine the 2020 result.

Current Arizona Secretary of State, Katie Hobbs a Democrat, running for governor in 2022, believes there is an “appetite for accountabilitythat has elevated secretaries of state like her who have pushed back on GOP election lies, saying:All of this focus on rehashing the 2022 election based on baseless allegations is holding us back. It’s out of touch.”

FYI: Yahoo News/YouGov poll in August found that two-thirds of Republicans believe the last election was stolen from Trump. And there was a deep partisan split in a CNN poll last month that showed 75% Republicans and 46% of Democrats said democracy was under attack.

More from the Main Story Page:

The dynamics could make GOP primaries particularly relevant next year. For example, Steve Bannon, on his podcast with a large right-wing audience, describes a candidate’s position on the 2020 election results as a litmus test for 2022.

For example: Bannon has welcomed to his show candidates like Finchem and taken an interest in Ohio’s crowded Senate primary, where Trump hasn’t endorsed, but Mandel and other GOP hopefuls have worked strenuously to impress the former president. Mandel visited Maricopa County during the audit and has won endorsements from AZ State Senator, Wendy Rogers, championed the audit.

Also, he got an endorsement from Jenna Ellis, a former Trump attorney and sidekick of Rudy Giuliani known for promoting false election claims.

Trump himself has fed some uncertainty and raising doubts without evidence about whether future elections will be conducted fairly and sending mixed messages about whether Republicans should bother casting ballots, saying in a recent rather threatening email to the RNCC:If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020, Republicans will not be voting in ʼ22 or ʼ24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”

Nate Persily, an election expert and professor at Stanford Law School, doesn’t believe that the false claims from Trump of widespread voter fraud will depress GOP turnout, saying in part:The allegations of voter fraud are more about defining a set of beliefs for a political tribe than it is about persuasiveness, trying to persuade a group about the utility of their vote. I have not seen evidence in the U.S. that those kinds of messages lead to demobilization.”

My 2 Cents: This article has good info that shows the true Trump once again as what his is: A serial pathological liar, who connives and cons in his every breath, and all for one single purpose: To keep his base in tow and fired up to get and keep them in line and of course to rake millions in donations from them for his own personal profit.

The man is incorrigible and what is best for the country would be his swift prosecution, trial, conviction, and a very long jail sentence to get him off the national stage and out of the headlines – which he thrives on.

This story underscores everything bad about Trump.

Thanks for stopping by.
