Background on his latest: NSA admits that the identity of Tucker Carlson was “unmasked” and leaked as he alleged in this earlier story.

(I note: This juicy headline favors Carlson and his claim and it offers no details, merely hyped headline and a red meat approach to attract readers which is a common journalistic practice).

In June, Tucker Carlson accused the NSA of monitoring his emails in an effort to find damaging material that would force him off the air. 

That claim led to a rare public denial from the agency, which stated that Carlson “has never been an intelligence target.”

Unmasking refers to the intelligence community practice that allows national security officials to see the identities of American citizens who correspond with foreigners under surveillance. By law, Americans are supposed to remain shielded (masked) from any spy agency’s view — and making any “unmasking of their names public is strictly prohibited.”

A Fox News spokesperson told The Record (a cybersecurity news site): “For the NSA to unmask Tucker Carlson or any journalist attempting to secure a newsworthy interview is entirely unacceptable and raises serious questions about their activities as well as their original denial, which was wildly misleading.”

Two sources told The Record that NSA’s investigation showed Carlson’s name was “unmasked” (revealed) being mentioned in communications between two parties under legal NSA surveillance, but that Carlson was not a direct nor incidental NSA target.”

My 2 Cents: As noted, NSA confirms that their source(s) under legal surveillance “leaked” Tucker Carlson’s name. 

This story should end here, but Carlson will milk it forever for more Fox ratings and possible salary increase. Common for him and lapped up by his followers.

Carlson, to his loyal followers, comes across as a seasoned and skilled journalist-reporter, but in fact he is a serial liar, a conspiracy nut, and spreader of utter nonsense. 

In my view even just watching and listening to him for 10 minutes reveals that he is dumber than a door knob.
