Virus Aid Chasm: DEMS Want a "Big" Package — GOP Wants a "Skinny" One

The bottom line as always is money
(DEMS: Lots of Benjamin$; GOP: Only Lin¢olns)

Analysis of stalled virus stimulus bill in Congress here from C/NET (via MSN News) – the headline:

Senate stimulus bill vote today: Five things that could happen with another relief package

Introduction and Highlights: The Senate will vote Thursday on a new skinny coronavirus package that Republicans are pushing to pass in lieu of, or perhaps in addition to, a larger stimulus bill that includes more funding for coronavirus relief programs – and a second stimulus check

There's doubt the narrower bill, which does not include another direct payment to eligible Americans, but which does contain a provision for unemployment benefits, will pass the Senate and it's roundly expected the House of Representatives will block it if it does. Yet it could potentially spur negotiations on a larger check to resume.

Two Key Points: The two sides are inching closer to agreement, but are still a long way off, with the White House hinting it could go up to $1.5 trillion while the Democrats have also come down from their initial $3 trillion proposal to $2.2 trillion.

With the presidential election about two months away, both sides are under increasing pressure to produce more aid.

Here are five scenarios that could happen with the stimulus package in the coming days and weeks – click story link for details on each point:

1. A series of small bills could pass.
2. Skinny bill could fail and a single large relief bill might pass.
3. EO’s could be issued instead of, or in addition to, a bill.
4. Relief might go on hold until after the election.
5. If no additional action is taken:

Then there is a serious impact for further domestic damage like:

Unemployment remains at staggeringly high levels and a housing crisis looms on the horizon.

If no action is taken on a relief package, individual bills or executive orders, it could potentially cause the economy to plunge into a deeper recession, as economists say the damage already done is beginning to mirror the Great Recession of the late 2000's.

For more information, here's how soon you might get your second stimulus check and what to know about the HEALS, CARES, and Heroes stimulus bill proposals that could help inform a final package.

My 2 cents: We are the edge of a huge chasm… lives are at stake but if you listen to the “debate” (arguing really), then the big concern is about political lives at stake and that in my opinion should be last on any list.
Inaction is a major cause here and we all know that Trump loves the “Art of the Deal” or as usual as we’ve seen in 3.6 years: “Art of the Con.”

And then add in Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Senate Majority “leader” and well the Grinch is right in our national face.

This is sad politicians playing raw partisan BS with American lives and the economy and the national future at stake and still so many want to strut around showing what asses they truly are … hate to be harsh, but it’s the truth. Time tell but for many time is running out.

Please contact your Senator and tell them to get busy and stand up and for America that they always make fancy speeches about. They must put up or shut up and get out.

Thanks for stopping by.
