Trump's Luck: Unaccountable for Poor Deals, Harmful Policy, and Lawlessness

The Worse Pandemic in 100 Years: What Does He Do
(Tells States and CDC No New Money — Get Out)

Don't take my word for it — ask Trump — his actions speak louder than words.

Trump pushing to block new money for testing, tracing, and the CDC in new coronavirus relief bill

Sub-heading: White House posture angers some GOP senators who are trying to include billions of dollars in the bill

1. Trump is trying to block billions of dollars for states to conduct testing  and contact tracing in the new coronavirus relief bill according to people involved in the talks.

2.  The administration is trying to block billions of dollars that GOP senators want to allocate for the CDC.

3.  And, they are also trying to block billions more for the Pentagon and State Department to address the pandemic at home and abroad.

The administration’s posture has angered some GOP senators, and some lawmakers are trying to push back and ensure that the money stays in the bill.

Officials spoke on condition of anonymity to reveal confidential deliberations, and they cautioned that the talks were fluid and the numbers were in flux.

The negotiations center around a bill GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is preparing to unveil this coming week (July 20) as part of negotiations with Democrats on what will likely be the last major coronavirus relief bill before the November election.

Negotiations are expected to kick off with increased urgency because of the rapid growth of cases — and steady uptick in deaths in the United States. The number of cases began falling in April but accelerated sharply after Memorial Day, shattering records in the past two weeks.

In late May, there were fewer than 20,000 new cases of coronavirus reported each day. On Friday (July 17) there were more than 76,000 new cases reported.

The two political parties are far apart on a number of contentious issues, such as unemployment insurance, but the conflict between Trump administration officials and Senate Republicans on money for testing and other priorities is creating a major complication even before bipartisan negotiations get under way.

Some lawmakers are trying to reach a deal quickly, as enhanced unemployment benefits for millions of Americans are set to expire in less than two weeks.

My 2 cents: This story puts to rest any doubts about Trump total lack of leadership, compassion, common sense, and common decency in this horrible pandemic – now the worse since the 1917-1920 Spanish Flu.

That outbreak infected 1/3 of the world’s population and by most accounts killed between 17 and 20 million people (nearly 800,000 deaths in the U.S.). Note: Records back then were scarce and incomplete compared to today.

Trump simply does not get it – he says he does – but his actions (or inactions) speak volumes about his empty and fake promises.

This article tells a very sad story about him – what a pitiful and pathetic human being.

Thanks for stopping by.
