Astonishing story here
from POLITICO that addresses Trump’s
third indictment and how a majority of Republicans,
2024 rivals and supporters, rose to his defense with the most
outlandish views.
In a 45-page indictment unveiled Tuesday, special counsel Jack Smith charged Trump with four felony counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding (that is Count Four: To cancel our legal lawful votes in 2020).
1. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL)
Twitted: “As President, I will end the weaponization of government, replace
the FBI Director, and ensure a single standard of justice for all Americans. While
I’ve seen reports, I have not read the indictment. I do, though, believe we
need to enact reforms so that Americans have the right to remove cases from Washington,
DC to their home districts. Washington, DC is a swamp and it is unfair to have
to stand trial before a jury that is reflective of the swamp mentality.”
FYI for wacky DeSantis: We have a single standard: “No one is above the law.”
2. Rep. Elise
Stefanik (R-NY) and the No. 3 House Republican, told Fox News Digital: “This
is another dark day in America as Joe Biden continues to weaponize his
corrupt DOJ against his leading political opponent Donald J. Trump.
President Trump had every right under the First Amendment to correctly raise
concerns about election integrity in 2020. Despite the DOJ’s illegal attempt to
interfere in the 2024 election on behalf of Joe Biden, President Trump
continues to skyrocket in the polls and will defeat Joe Biden and be sworn in
as President of the United States in January 2025.”
FYI for lip-locked Trump sycophant Stefanik: Absolutely yes, he had that right to
complain and challenge the 2020 election results, and he did in over 60 court
cases and he lost all of them including two from the USSC. Sworn back into office
in January 2025 – ha... from Rikers, Ms. Stefanik?
3. Sen. Tim Scott
(R-SC), also running against Trump accused Biden officials saying: “He is weaponizing
the government against a rival. I remain concerned about the weaponization of
Biden’s DOJ and its immense power used against political opponents. What we see
today are two different tracks of justice. One for political opponents and
another for the son of the current president.”
4. Vivek Ramaswamy repeated
his promise to pardon Trump and said January 6 was the result of
censorship: “Donald Trump isn’t the cause of what happened on January 6.
The real cause was systematic & pervasive censorship of citizens in the
year leading up to it.”
5. Nikki Haley, who
has previously suggested she’d be open to pardoning Trump:
She has not yet issued a statement.
6. Chris
Christie issued another thundering denunciation:
“The events around the White House from election night forward are a stain on
our country’s history & a disgrace to the people who participated. This
disgrace falls the most on Donald Trump.”
7. Asa
Hutchinson said: “I have always said that Donald Trump is morally
responsible for the attack on our democracy. Now, with today’s indictment, our
system of Justice will determine whether he is criminally responsible.”
8. Will Hurd, perhaps
the purest #NeverTrump candidate, said: “Let me be crystal clear: Trump’s
presidential bid is driven by an attempt to stay out of prison and scam his
supporters into footing his legal bills. Furthermore, his denial of the 2020
election results and actions on January 6 show he’s unfit for office.”
My 2 Cents: Yes, it’s
true, we do have a 2-tier justice system but not the political-leaning one the
GOP and MAGA types keep blasting, and it's not the one they claim – e.g., rich vs. poor
used to be it, but not today which has been in place since day one of this Trump mess: “That no one is above the law” has been replaced today that Trump and his MAGA followers want: One that only fits him and no
one else or so it seems and that is the one he has implied that says: “I can do what I want and the law can’t
touch me.”
He also wants to do away with
the FBI, down size and control the DOJ, dismiss 75% of all Federal civilian
employees, and put all key agencies under his one-man control and no one else.
What do we call that?
Certainly not representative
democracy that we hold today (albeit very fragile) but one that would be a dictatorship
… that is a one-man tyrant named DONALD J. TRUMP in charge of it all – I seriously ask why?
Simple: That is who he is, how
he thinks, and what he wants and needs.
Thanks for stopping by.
