Trump's 2022 Candidates: Peddling His "Big Lie" for a Revenge 2nd Term

In my 2nd term I'm coming for you, you, and you
(Everyone against me will feel my wrath)

Without a doubt Trump is the least-informed, least smart, and constitutionally savvy former President ever … hands down the dumbest.

The following story makes that clear with this headline from Business Insider:

Trump considered mass pardons for his supporters who mobbed the Capitol on January 6

·  Trump floated mass pardons for January 6 rioters before leaving office (Politico reports

·  Trump brought up the idea of pardons if he wins the presidency again at a rally in Texas (January 29)

·  He asked if he could pardon “everybody that had a Trump sign or everybody who walked into the Capitol”

Trump floated the idea of pardoning those charged over the January 6 insurrection if he was reelected in 2024, an idea that drew condemnation from several senators in his own party

Trump said about the January 6 defendants at a rally in Conroe, TX: “If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly. We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons. Because they are being treated so unfairly.”

Now consider a possible 2nd Trump term seen on here from CNN.

Then add this to the mix and his drive for a 2nd term - that is if you want scary and worrisome and a direct threat to America, well, then this story from Salon is at the top of that list with this headline:

Meet the scariest Republican candidates of 2022: It wasn't easy to pick 'em

A few Trump-backed far right 2022 candidates
(Background on each of them in the story link)

The next wave of Republican freshmen could be the worst yet – and could pose a legitimate threat to our democracy.

The Trump era saw a far-right takeover of the Republican Party. But the “Big Lie” and the fallout from the Capitol riot last January 6 threaten to move the party even further into the extremist fringe after the 2022 midterms.

Republicans have long inched toward extremist positions on issues like immigration, women's rights and gun rights but Trump's election helped mainstream racist, xenophobic, and white nationalist forces.

Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) arguably one of the most effective conservative political figures in recent history, has increasingly Trump now has cast him as a RINO (Republican in Name Only) while the once-fringe House Freedom Caucus has grown massively to become a leading force in DC.

Longtime conservatives like former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and former Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) both ran for the hills while conspiracy theorists like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) became the faces of the new MAGA wing of the GOP.

Though the majority of the House Republican caucus voted to back Trump's “Big Lie” and tried to block the certification of Biden's 2020 victory after the deadly Capitol riot, Trump and his allies wasted no time in launching a revenge tour: To purge lawmakers seen as disloyal to Trump and who also support legislatures and bills that seek to make it easier to overturn the next election with new voter suppression laws.

My 2 Cents: The full story is at the Insider link – it is worth reading to show and reinforce again just how awful this man truly is.

Jail time can’t come soon enough to prove to the world and to the GOP and especially to Trump’s sycophants just how horrible he is and that we as a nation truly believe in truth and justice our bedrock judicial code which is: “No one is above the law.”

And especially not even Donald J. Trump and those knee deep in his crime syndicate for many past and now current years.

Thanks for stopping by.
