Climate Change: Real and Compelling and Deniers are Categorically Wrong

It’s real and it’s happening now
(Is this how life on Earth ends)

Arctic ice minimum: The lowest on record

Attention all GOP climate, health, and other kind of science deniers: This is for you from the UN on climate change in a new report just out with this headline from The Wall Street Journal:

“U.N. Panel Issues Stark Climate-Change Warning”

Rising seas, melting ice caps, and other effects of a warming climate may be irreversible for centuries and are “unequivocally driven by greenhouse-gas emissions from human activity,” says a scientific panel working under the auspices of the UN reported on Monday (August 9).

Issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an organization of 195 governments, the report is drawn from a 3-year analysis of 14,000 peer-reviewed scientific studies.

It is the first major international assessment of climate-change research since 2013 and the first of four IPCC reports expected in the next 15 months.

Ko Barrett, vice chair of the panel and the senior adviser for climate at the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said: We’ve known for decades that the world is warming, but this report tells us that recent changes in the climate are widespread, rapid and intensifying, unprecedented in thousands of years. Further, it is indisputable that human activities are causing climate change.”

Dan Lunt, a climate scientist in the U.K. at the University of Bristol and one of 234 co-authors of the report, said: It is now completely apparent that climate is changing everywhere on the planet.”

My 2 Cents: I let this new UN report stand on its own.

I won’t even try to appeal to or debate stubborn hard-head Republican science deniers. That's a long lost cause.

But for them, know this: At the end of the day or at the end of time for Mother Earth, who will be left for them to blame?

Case closed – and BTW: A weak GOP oops won’t suffice, either.

Thanks for stopping by.
