Rep. Boebert Headlines Hog: More on Her Staunch Gun Attitude "Molon Labe"

Back at the top of the awful, horrible, nasty people’s list is once Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). 

Her latest stunt story from MarketWatch with this headline:

“Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert’s campaign sent hell no to taking our guns email hours after Boulder mass shooting”

As the nation mourned its second mass shooting within a week on Tuesday, a Colorado Republican drew backlash for appearing to use the tragedy as a fundraising opportunity. 

Two hours after a gunman fatally shot 10 people in a Boulder grocery store, Rep. Lauren Boebert’s campaign sent supporters an email with the subject line “I told *Beto ‘HELL NO’ to taking our guns. Now we need to tell Joe Biden.”

*Note: Boebert was referring to Beto O’Rourke and his comments in a speech on September 12, 2019 posted here from NPR about buying back AR-15 and AK-47 rifles (both combat rifles), and BTW a modified AR-15 was used in the Boulder mass shooting.

Journalist David Gura tweeted a screenshot of the Boebert email on Monday (March 22), which also named President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi among the “…radical gun-grabbing left” that Boebert claims is trying to “violate your due process and criminalize the private transfer of firearms.”

Other critics have called her “heartless and out of touch” in condemning the timing of the email. 

One woman responded to Boebert saying: “What she is demonstrating is that money is more important to her than the lives of Coloradans.” 

Boebert’s campaign was not immediately available for comment.

My 2 cents: My earlier post about Boebert is here (March 11) … in a word, she is a whack job.

She does not deserve to be in the United States Congress. Yes, the voters sent her, but now perhaps (and hopefully) they will have second thoughts after this her rant following the Boulder massacre and make no doubt about it – it was a massacre – and boot her out in 2022 (midterms).

Note that Boebert is also the owner of a “gun-themed restaurant in Rifle, CO, called Shooters Grill.” It boasts that its waitresses wear firearms while serving customers.
