Nixon's Watergate 7 — Trump same path with his 7
History
indeed may be repeating itself

Interesting article here from
Vox with this headline:
Trump loves dictators. Erdogan is the latest to take
advantage of that
The troubles facing Syria — and troubles elsewhere —
are in large part caused not by America’s weakness, but by Trump’s.
Trump bragged that his
decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria thus leaving those America’s
allies, the Syrian Kurds who helped “defeat ISIS (as Trump also proclaimed),”
to fend for themselves against invading Turkish forces — was a strategically
brilliant masterstroke. He then said the Syria
ceasefire his administration agreed to with Turkey on amounted to a great
day for civilization.
But Trump doesn’t seem to know that he’s played right
into Turkish President Erdoğan’s hands as well as to Putin, al-Assad, and Iran’s
hands, too — all of which is the latest horrifying example of how Trump gets
taken advantage of by wily strongmen who he always caters and brags about
relationships with them (e.g., Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Hassan Rouhani,
Bashar al-Assad, Xi Jin-ping, Rodrigo Duterte, Egypt’s Abdel Fattah al-Sissi,
and several Latin and South American
tyrants).
My 2 cents: Why does Trump appease them?
Simple: they are strong
men, dictators, and tyrants and Trump can’t stand to be outdone by anyone, so
he tries to surpass them in his quest for his one-man rule of America – not proven,
but a damn logical guess.
But he is way out of his league in that effort and
right now he has a very dismal record to prove my contention. Finally, to
understand Trump, even if that’s possible is this simple supposition: Whatever Trump says, implies, does, tries, proposes, suggests, denies, or
puts forth as the best or true about anyone or anything, just take the opposite
view and path and bingo: You will know Trump.
Meanwhile and along the way, Trump blasts, insults, degrades, and
belittles trusted allies, friends, and longtime partners, e.g., the UN, EU, G-7, IAEA, Japan, South Korea, several
other nations, and worse, most of our
national security and intelligence agencies.
All that is very damaging to our democracy and freedoms, and thus puts
this famous quote into full view: “America will
never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it
will be because we destroyed ourselves.” ~ Abraham
Lincoln (1809-1865)
Also, very wise: “One
for all for all for one.” (Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno).
Thanks for stopping by.
