Senate candidate in GA, Herschel Walker’s positions means on
thing; name recognition only and hardcore on one single issue that please the
GOP to ensure he stays lock-step in line with them no matter the issue as well
as pleasing Trump and any/all far, far right issues – examples in this
story from SFGATE with this headline:
“SF Giants owner Charles B. Johnson doubles down on support
for Herschel Walker, a 'Stop the Steal' enthusiast”
Walker — who has gotten endorsements from a host of
right-wing figures including Trump, former California GOP gubernatorial
candidate Larry Elder, GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Walker has repeatedly, falsely claimed the 2020 election was
rigged against Trump.
Walker has alleged “Country-wide election fraud.”
He has called for an ominous-sounding “total cleansing of
America.
He backs and sticks with conspiracy theorist Lin Wood.
Walker, on January 4, two days before the riot at the
Capitol also stuck by conspiracy theorist Sydney Powell, even after the
Trump campaign distanced itself from her.
Walker attended a campaign event at a location owned by Jim
Worthington, a major donor of Walker's who organized transportation to and from
the January 6, 2021, “Stop the Steal rally in Washington, D.C.
After the January 6 insurrection, Johnson said and promised
to seek a refund from Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) well-known gun nut who wants
open carry in the House, and as well as “any other individuals who are found to
have engaged in similar behavior” to hers.
Johnson further said that he would “reject
and denounce any individuals, candidates or elected officials who do not honor
our constitution or who espouse or assist in violence of any kind.”
Johnson then promised: “To
do my part in helping to heal our nation and restore peace and respect in our
democratic system.”
Note: SFGATE could
not find any evidence that Johnson obtained a refund from Boebert, and neither
Johnson nor the Boebert campaign ever returned a request for comment on the
matter.
Another Johnson donation to a joint-fundraising committee
quickly funneled its way to the Boebert campaign for a second time.
He's given to the PAC for a Louisiana
politician who gave plaudits to the Capitol rioters.
He's donated to Walker, NV Senate candidate Adam Laxalt (who said the 2020 election was “rigged), and now, given
again to Walker again via a super PAC.
My 2 Cents: Herschel Walker seems like a decent man, was very good NFL player, but he has lied about his education background and other things, and his political views are way, way, far, far right.
As U.S. Senator he could influence policies
detrimental to the nation as a whole.
He has voided serious issues while continuing to fluff and please Trump and like-minded far right ideas and ideals.
He must not be elected to the United States Senate nor anyone
like him, either that would continue to peddle conspiracies and keep the country
divided in a very bad way.
Thanks for stopping by.
