You're doing great, Bill. Keep up the intense pressure
(Your new orders will help me nail my
enemies)
Update follows (May 26, 2019) and also of the my other post (same subject) seen here.
Trump gives Barr presidential power: Trump is the government’s highest authority over whether national secrets remain classified or not.
This
update from here in part:
Director
of National Intelligence Dan Coats (R-IN) issued a warning about national security after
President Trump granted AG Barr broad new powers to declassify intelligence
related to the origins of the Russia investigation, saying in part that he is
“confident” Barr will follow “standards.”
But Coats
also warned: “… that
if highly sensitive classified information” is released, it “would put our
national security at risk.”
Coats emphasized
that the intelligence community will “continue to share apolitical
intelligence” with the rest of the government, then added: “I am confident that the Attorney
General will work with the intelligence community in accordance with the
long-established standards to protect highly-sensitive classified information
that, if publicly released, would put our national security at risk.”

Trump gives Barr presidential power: Trump is the government’s highest authority over whether national secrets remain classified or not.
His new order gives AG Barr
significant authority over agencies that typically hold their secrets close and
don’t declassify them easily. While the memo states Barr should consult with
the head of an agency before declassifying its secrets, it also demands that
Barr
IMPACT: Jeremy Bash, a former chief
of staff at the CIA
during the Obama administration, warned that, with his directive, Trump was
entering “dangerous territory,” then he added: “Stripping the intelligence leaders of their ability to control
information about sources and methods, and handing that power to political
actors, could cause human agents to question whether their identity will be
protected.”
Barr has
been criticized by former FBI director
James Comey and other former law enforcement officials for using the phrase
“spying” to discuss how investigators monitored some Trump campaign advisers
who had extensive contacts with Russians.
Trump critics
argue that Barr is parroting Trump’s loaded wording, when in fact, such surveillance was a proper part of a
counterintelligence investigations looking at whether Russians were trying
to influence Trump’s campaign aides.
(Note: Related to the investigations that
Trump and others claim were unlawful “spying” is this assessment from
the Brennan Center at NYU – an excellent source).
My 2 cents from the article that I agree with: Barr will use that power and his position as the
nation’s top law enforcement official to aggressively protect the
president and attack his critics.
Obviously, Trump and Barr are conspiring to “Weaponize law enforcement and classified information
against their political enemies.”
Overall, this poses a very dangerous move against our
intelligence community and poses a direct threat to national security.
You can bet that all our adversaries are paying close
attention to details that Barr would easily let slip out … all to get some kind
of revenge on Trump’s “enemy’s list.”
Trump has now entered Richard Nixon
territory about using our government agencies for his own political gain to
attack his political “enemies.”
Thanks for stopping by.
