This is Captain Trump: "Abandon Ship, Women and Children First, Then Save Me"

Lock-step GOP, or so it seems:
Sink or swim with the party leader

Hazards be damned: Full speed ahead

The Washington Post story cited below comes two days after the NY Times story broke about the FBI that they were so concerned about Trump-Russian contacts and such that they opened a counter-espionage investigation file – both reports raise all kinds of new warning flags...
In my view, Mr. Trump is in deep trouble due to: (1) his total arrogance about the duties of the President and his single-minded, one-man attitude to run things on his own is troubling, or (2) he is scared of Putin and the compromised info Putin has on him that probably is mostly corrupt financial ties, or (3) a combo of several other key things.
It seems like GOP ready to take a huge hit (fall their swords as it were) to continue to standby and protect Trump.
I have three words for that: Bye, bye GOP from The Hill - subj: Republicans have sought to temper the impact of the latest bombshell reports involving Trump and Russian ties, etc.

The GOP responses came after both The New York Times and The Washington Post reported new details over the weekend involving allegations of Trump's close ties with Moscow, sparking renewed concerns about the fate of Mueller's probe.
Background:
1.  The New York Times reported on January 11 that the FBI was so concerned about Trump's firing of the Director, James Comey, that it opened an inquiry into whether the president was working on behalf of Russian interests.
2.  Now the Washington Post reported on January 12 that Trump has kept details of his meetings with Vladimir Putin from top officials in his administration, including withholding notes from an interpreter.
Examples:
3. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, on NBC criticized Washington's focus on the Mueller investigation “as being out of touch with the rest of the country.”
4. The White House dismissed the reports as “inaccurate and defended Trump's record on Russia.”
5. Meanwhile, Trump called the stories “insulting and ridiculous.”
6. Then, on cue, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who would not directly address The New York Times story, said on a Sunday show interview that “it is ludicrous to consider Trump a national security threat.”
Related to my other two posts, the same subjects here and here:
My 2 cents: Assuming all the Times and Post reports are accurate, then all that alone could be impeachment article: “Failure to fulfill presidential duties with foreign adversary and protect national security.”
We shall now see how many Republicans in congress or otherwise are willing to go down with the USS Donald J. Trump?
Thanks for stopping by.
