White House Web of Deceit and Cover Up: Ready to Fold or What

Center of Attention With Lots of Peripheral Spiders

Nunes WTF Have You Unleashed

Related and added late (Washington Post story).
Key from that link: The White House officials said that the classified files were gathered by Cohen-Watnick for Rep. Nunes.  After assembling reports that showed that Trump campaign officials were mentioned or “inadvertently monitored by U.S. spy agencies targeting foreign individuals,” Cohen took the matter to the top lawyer for the NSC, John Eisenberg (he is in second place) while the previously mentioned #2, Michael Ellis, is in third place. Ellis is a lawyer who previously worked with Rep. Nunes on the House Intelligence Committee. He joined the Trump administration as an attorney who reports to John Eisenberg and then he and Ellis both report directly to the White House Chief Counsel, Donald McGahn.

The Main Post is from NBC News here highlights here in part.

BACKGROUND: House Intel Chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) in an interview on FOX last month, Nunes called leaks about the Trump-Putin/Russian ties totally unacceptable, saying: “I think most of this is probably from people who were in the old administration, but there still could be some people that have burrowed in and are providing classified information to the media.”

Then it all blows up a week ago (from The Hill): (1) Nunes goes to the W/H annex in the middle of the night, (2) gets classified info from he says “unnamed sources), then (3) the next day he holds press conference, and (4) briefs Mr. Trump, wherein later Trump says “he feels somewhat vindicated” that he was only collateral info on the wire-tapping at Trump Tower.
Nunes said he had two unnamed sources but now heavy suspicion falls on Ezra Cohen-Watnick, a 30-year old intelligence operative who was senior director for intelligence programs and who used to work for Flynn at DIA, and or W/H Lawyer Michael Ellis, or both.
BTW: Now we find out that the new NSC adviser Gen. H. R. McMaster (who replaced Flynn) wanted Watnick reassigned due to the bad relations he presented and who fell out of favor with some at the CIA according to them as reported by POLITICO.
McMaster told Watnick that he would be moved to another position in the organization. But, Cohen-Watnick appealed McMaster’s decision to two influential allies with whom he had forged a relationship while working on Trump’s transition team: Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner to help him stay and not be transferred. Those two brought the matter to Trump and he agreed that Cohen-Watnick would remain as the NSC’s intelligence director.
The documents given or shown to Nunes could only have come from Cohen-Watnick or someone else at the W/H who had access (and only a few people do) to the SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility).
Worse in all of this is the smell of a giant cover up of the truth and yes, even some of the leaks. The real web lies about the truth is the story and that part is being covered up by numerous Trump officials and tweeted about by Mr. Trump. The cover up as they say in many cases is worse than the crime. The common thread I believe in all this is the money and ties to Russia for any reason (business or otherwise). Seems criminal activity happened and that is the key part.
Now the recently appointed and then recently fired former NSC adviser Ret. Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn is seeking “assurances against unfair prosecution” in order to provide interviews to congressional panels investigating possible collusion between Trump aides and Moscow said his lawyers.
(Note: No decision has been made on that Flynn’s request).
The Wall Street Journal reports that Flynn told the FBI and congressional committees he is willing to testify in exchange for immunity from prosecution, and Flynn’s lawyers say “He has a story to tell.”

My point of view: Okay, what story does Flynn have to tell?

Hopefully it's not a story designed just to cover and protect his own ass, but a story one that gets us to the truth – the whole story that in fact reveals all asses in play including the highest ass of all – the man at the very top.

My questions are simple and basic and I’m sure the FBI has more complex and detailed questions, but there is a HITCH: The FBI’s part may be criminal in focus and scope, which they usually are, and maybe right now, incomplete. Thus, the FBI can’t or may not be willing to grant full immunity until they get the whole story, or certainly enough verifiable leads to continue with or without Flynn as a source.

They FBI could perhaps grant some sort of short-term or partial immunity as long as information shows positive truth and not BS to protect his own ass and then final or total and complete immunity from prosecution as the end is reached for Flynn’s part.

Also, the FBI may have bigger fish in their sights – so, that is key also. Not only that but Flynn might be the first insider shoe to fall and the first one who wants to play “Let’s Make a Deal.”

These things are usually very complex when dealing with such high levels of scrutiny (i.e., the White House, high officials and maybe the President himself). We need to be 100% sure and accurate and see evidence that is indisputable and conclusive and cannot be denied or labeled as “fake news” or anything even close to that spin line we hear all the time right now, period.

The public has a compelling right to know, and the sooner the better.  But with press secretary slinging crap like this - that's seems out of reach ... Spicer needs to go in my view - his latest here (about 21 minutes) - leak stuff at the 11 minute mark:
