W/H Counsel McGahn Stopped FBI Full Kavanaugh Investigation After Trump OK’d It

Kavanaugh Testifies and McGahn (The Fixer) Right Behind Him

McGahn's Handiwork (The Fix): About to pay-off in spades

Headlines (from Raw Story):

White House counsel Don McGahn stopped FBI from full Kavanaugh investigation even after Trump OK’d it

According to a new report by The NY TIMES the short FBI report (or “fix” – my definition) wasn’t Trump’s fault. Oops – who’s to blame then?

A week ago, following the confirmation committee’s recess and Sen. Flake’s request, Trump agreed to allow the FBI to conduct a follow-up or supplemental background investigation of the rape and attempted rape charges levied his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

That investigation only took a few days and involved just nine witnesses, neither of which was Judge Kavanaugh or Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford, the woman who says she survived an attack by the judge in 1982.

An exasperated President Trump actually wanted a real investigation and was thwarted by the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn.

Trump told McGahn:Tell the F.B.I. they can investigate anything because we need the critics to stop.” (re: The TIMES reports)

However, McGahn convinced Trump that “A wide-ranging inquiry like some Democrats were demanding — and that Trump was suggesting to allow — would be potentially disastrous for Judge Kavanaugh’s chances of confirmation to the Supreme Court.”

McGahn also told Trump:You cannot legally order the FBI to rummage indiscriminately through someone’s life.”

My 2 cents: After that exchange we clearly see the “fix” was in by McGahn in essence telling Trump: “If we do what is right and just, we probably will lose the nomination (implying that solid and seriously harmful stuff would nail Kavanaugh), but if we control it, limit the FBI’s scope, etc., then we win.”)

In other words stop the truth from coming out.

As for me, I don’t know how or by what process, but Trump and McGahn based on this story are clearly co-conspirators in a huge criminal cover-up since the FBI wrapped up their investigation in a few days and without even talking to Ford and/or Kavanaugh.

Ergo: The “fix” seems to have paid off. So, will any lawyers or anyone at all step up to take action - certainly this all GOP-run Congress will not.

Some will surely say this was a routine and normal presidential action based on sound advice from White House counsel, etc, etc, etc,

Folks, this is not that – not on bit, or as the expression says: “I may have been at night, but not last night.” This is a sham and shameful at the same time.

It is apparent that for the talk of “Due process, equal justice under law, and all that” – well, that's all out the proverbial window under “This Don” or so it appears.

This whole case is a dark, dark day for America, for our justice system, which after this even if not broken is badly bent and on the verge of being totally useless.

Thanks for stopping by.
