Trump (T-45’s) Tariff Trade War:

London (CNN)The United States ambassador to the UK, Woody Johnson, called on Britain to side with President Trump on Iran “or to risk serious trade consequences for UK businesses.”

In a pointed intervention into an issue that has strained ties between the two allies, Johnson said the UK should embrace Trump's hard-hitting sanctions on Iran, re-imposed last week, and break with its European partners who are seeking to preserve the deal to curtail Iran's nuclear program, writing in the UK’s Sunday Telegraph: “America is turning up the pressure and we want the UK by our side. It is time to move on from the flawed 2015 deal. We are asking global Britain to use its considerable diplomatic power and influence and join us as we lead a concerted global effort towards a genuinely comprehensive agreement.”

(I Note: Johnson was referring to the 2015 Obama-era Iran nuclear pact agreed upon by the U.S., Iran, the UK, France, Germany, China, and Russia to curb Iranian nuclear weapon development. Trump withdrew the U.S. from the deal in May 2018, even though all the other signatories and the IAEA all have said repeatedly that Iran is complying with agreement. Trump, however, wants to play hardball as his version of “Art of the Deal” – which really is dangerous ground for him to place the U.S. to say the least, and also going against our closest and best allies).

In a joint statement just last week, the UK, France, and Germany all said again that the Iran deal was “working and delivering on its goal and said they deeply regret the re-imposition of U.S. sanctions.”

Impact of all this: Europe has attempted to counteract the effects of the sanctions by launching an updated version of its “Blocking Statue” (a measure intended to protect EU companies doing business in Iran from being hit by punitive U.S. measures).

Johnson seemed to disregard that move urging British businesses directly to cut ties with Iran, writing in the Telegraph: “The President has been explicit: any businesses which put their own commercial interests in Iran ahead of the global good will risk serious consequences for their trade with the United States.”

Johnson concluded: “Only by presenting a united front can we exert the maximum possible pressure on the Iranian regime and get them to finally change course and put an end to their malign and reckless activities both at home and abroad.”

Johnson's comments come less than a week after the Trump administration on Tuesday re-imposed a raft of sanctions on Iran that affect, among other things, the purchase or acquisition of U.S. dollars by the Iranian government, the country's auto industry and trade in gold or precious metals. Another phase of U.S. sanctions will be re-imposed in November and will target Iran's crucial oil industry.

My 2 cents: A simple question not just about Trump’s one-man stance against Iran even in the face of contracting our allies, partners, and friends and the IAEA, or his harsh tariff policies impacting China and this threat to the UK, and it seems Turkey as well is in his sights, is this: WTF is Trump’s goal? Seems it’s some sort of global dictatorship plan just for himself and a [????? partner blank].

Their purpose is to divide up the planet by saying: “Okay, you take the Eastern part across the Atlantic Ocean all the way to Asia and everything in between. I pick it up from Asia across the Pacific Ocean back to the Atlantic Ocean shores and link up with your half, then we’ll have a total lock on Mother Earth.”

Sounds far-fetched I know, but think deep about what is going on around and from  and planned by Trump and his [????? fill in the blank partner].

FYI: Fill in the blank for the Trump partner with any name that pops in your head.

Thanks for stopping by.
