Again the Center of
Attention and (more) Possible Undue Influence
ORIGINAL POST STARTS BELOW FOLLOWING THIS MAJOR UPDATE ABOUT THE ARMS DEALS IN THIS POST WITH THIS HEADLINES:
Trump's $110 Billion Arms Deal With Saudi Arabia May Be Illegal
WASHINGTON ― The human rights arm of the American Bar Association has sent the Senate a legal analysis saying that Trump's plan for an arms deal with Saudi Arabia worth more than $100 billion would be illegal because of the Saudis’ role in the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
Citing
“multiple credible reports of recurring and highly questionable [air]strikes’’
by the Saudi military that have killed civilians, the U.S. “cannot continue to
rely on Saudi assurances that it will comply with international law and agreements
concerning the use of U.S.-origin equipment,” according to Michael Newton, a prominent Vanderbilt University law
professor and former military judge advocate general.
A New York magazine
reporter then said the person in question was Kushner, 36, who is married to Trump’s
daughter, Ivanka. Both of them flew with the president on his first official
foreign trip.

Jared Kushner is a shady character and has far too much power and influence. We are not a family-run nation (yet) are we – so we need to see a stop to this as shown in this story – these highlights:

Newton, in his
23-page opinion, said the strikes have continued “even after Saudi units received
training and equipment to reduce civilian casualties.”
ORIGINAL POST FROM HERE ALONG WITH THIS OTHER MAJOR BREAKING STORY FROM the Independent IN THE UK:
Trump son-in-law, Jared
Kushner, has reportedly been identified as a “person of interest” in the
ongoing investigation into possible ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s
campaign.
The Washington Post said
a senior adviser to Trump was among people investigators wanted to
speak to.
Jared Kushner is a shady character and has far too much power and influence. We are not a family-run nation (yet) are we – so we need to see a stop to this as shown in this story – these highlights:
President
Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, reportedly
intervened on Saudi Arabia’s behalf to negotiate down a pricey antimissile radar
system from Lockheed Martin.
A New York Times report cites several unnamed administration
officials, described a meeting between Kushner and a delegation from the Gulf
nation on May 1 this way:
“Let’s
get this done today.” That is a quote from Kushner saying about the more than
$100 billion arms deal on the table between Lockheed Martin and the Saudis.
Apparently he wanted both sides to finalize the deal before Trump’s upcoming visit
as part of his first trip overseas as President. One American official raised the
possibility that the Saudis add a Lockheed-made radar system to the bill.
Sensing that the cost might be a problem, several
administration officials said Kushner picked up the phone and called Marillyn
A. Hewson — the chief executive of Lockheed Martin, which makes the radar
system — and asked her whether she could cut the price. As his guests watched
slack-jawed, Ms. Hewson told him she would look into it, officials said.
This incident recalled a frequent boast by President Trump that he had personally
pressured Lockheed to lower costs on an order of F-35 fighter jets. Related
to this slimy (in my view) Kushner move recalls this I posted about before (the
visa deal for a contribution from high-rollers in China seen here.
Finally: America is not Trump family property to be marketed
by their name and used as a barging chip in a high stakes poker games to
increase their wealth around the globe.
This
story out Kushner and this Lockheed Martin deal with the Saudis and his direct
interference in other areas (like the Chinese visa offer) are both disgusting
and perhaps illegal on some grounds, grounds which I don’t have direct info
about, but believe there may – and if not illegal certainly questionable and
flat out wrong and not acceptable.
Any
fallout expected? Nope, probably only more Trump bragging about the “Art of the
Deal” um? Yep. Sickening to say the least. More like Art of the Con...!!!
