Maybe before or after the 60-Minutes Interview with Mr. Trump
100% after the 60-Minutes Interview: Hawked the bracelet via Twitter
This story from there (NY Post): Ivanka Trump’s company is under fire for using her father’s “60
Minutes” interview to peddle a $10,800 bracelet from her jewelry line. She
appeared on that Sunday segment wearing a diamond and gold bangle on her left
wrist as she sat with her president-elect dad and other family members.
The very next day, journalists received a “Style Alert email from her
company, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry,” was crowing that: “Ivanka wore her
favorite bangle from the Metropolis Collection over the weekend on 60 Minutes.”
A New York Times reporter who received the email called
it “ethically blurred,” and many warned that the incident is just the
tip of the iceberg when it comes to potential conflicts of interest involving
President-elect Donald Trump.
DAMAGE CONTROL – SORT OF (typical limp wrist excuse, too):
Ivanka’s company president, Abigail
Klem, later issued a statement about the email, saying: “This notification was sent by a well-intentioned
marketing employee at one of our companies who was following customary
protocol, and who, like many of us, is still
making adjustments post-election. We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going
forward.’’
Ivanka has personally pushed her goods using her father’s political
success in the past like after the RNC Convention when she tweeted out a link
to the dress she wore that night when she spoke: It soon sold out.
My note: Wow – already using the Trump brand and name to enrich their bottom
line as it were and this early, too – double dog wow…!!! Can't wait to see the next 4 years.
For all the folks who supported Trump, Inc., You have been had.
