USSC: Listen and Watch - Man Invoking Rights or Flaunting Disrespect

Minor "pen-change" or legally rational reading of the Second Amendment
(not even close except 5-4 is not rational, legal, yes; but not rational)

Man in below video with daughter at Atlanta airport
(Loaded AR-15 slung across his chest. His reason, he says: "To be safe.")

Not a joke, but did you hear the one about the man who walks into a major airport with heavy loaded AR-15 for his own safety, he says.

The story and video that follows – a simple question re: open carry, in our face defiance (my view) of common sense and decency vs. 5-4 and gun nut arrogance (again, my view, but it seems more true with this example and Cliven Bundy - remember him??).

Watch this very short homemade video at the airport in question:

My views on the Second Amendment are simple and long held: I would not change one single word in it. Now having said that, I respect the rights of owners as well as common sense along the way, which I do not believe we have any longer. Stories and events related to things like these concerns:
  1. I hope their guns are safely stored away from small children or mentally ill persons.
  2. Likewise, I hope the gun owners and handlers have had proper gun safety.
  3. I wish we had a high-court that says that, too, and stops allowing this “Wild, Wild West”  mentality and “Back the Future” blatant arrogance about open carry on Campus, in some churches, worse, in schools, and yes, even in bars in some locations.
  4. I detest the weak reason given: “It's my right.”
  5. Yes, it is a right - a deadly one potentially, but keep in mind that voting is a right, too but look how it's being abused.
Once again, listen to the man in the video – his tone and words. It really does smack of raw and blatant arrogance bordering on total disrespect for the law and rights of others around him who are not armed like him (just to feel safe).

Just imagine an open shoot out at that airport with him with him and his over-sized 100-round drum for his AR-15 ... nice thought isn't it??  Two words about all this comes to mind, and also in my view: t o t a l * i n s a n i t y...!!!

Related to open carry laws (see list here) has never been ruled out as a right under the Second Amendment by any court.

However, in the majority opinion (5-4) in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), Justice Scalia wrote concerning the entirety of the elements of the Second Amendment with these words, in part: “We find that they guarantee the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.  Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited.  It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.” (Emphases added are mine).

Thanks for stopping by. This I strongly believe is a critically-important subject that needs more debate and discussion from logic, not emotion.
