GOP Wants Total Control — That Must Not Be Allowed
Imagine a Senate Full of These Types
Sen. Cruz (R-TX), Rubio (R-FL), Paul (R-KY)
More in the House like This One
Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID)
The GOP is seeking to increase their House numbers and retake the Senate in 2014, and of course, win the White House in 2016. What do they have to offer?
1. Threat of a government shutdown unless Health Care is repealed or defunded (or both).
2. Threat of defaulting the nation debt and credit rating of the country (like in 2011).
3. More cuts to domestic programs like depriving kids and low-income families struggling on minimum wages of food stamps and decent, affordable health care.
4. Voting restrictions designed to keep voters away from the polls.
And, much, much more harsh tactics.
Then, this latest stunt in the House by a group of Republicans led
by Rep. Raúl Labrador, (pictured above) who has proposed a new bill that would provide a
nationwide “license to discriminate” against married same-sex couples. Though Rep. Labrador claims the bill protects “religious liberty,” it is nothing less than a
blanket invitation to deny benefits to same-sex couples that they are entitled
to under law.
How can the GOP say they stand right and wrong, justice, the American way, and then propose outright discrimination like this? It boggles the mind - assumes they even have a mind to be boggled.
A sad day in America - again. What is that sound I hear off stage? Oh, that, wild cheering from the GOP base who quite frankly falls for anything. That's the worst part.
