"Using Medicare or Medicaid? Listen up..."

The story from ABC News at http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=5326078&page=1

Do I have your attention, yet?

For the past four years, Dr. Heather Tipsword has owned a family practice clinic that primarily treats Medicaid and Medicare patients in Oklahoma City. As many of her friends and family were looking forward to Fourth of July celebrations this past weekend, Tipsword was anxiously looking forward to another event altogether: Congress' meeting on the Monday after the holiday weekend to discuss some kind of fix to the scheduled 10.6 percent Medicare reimbursement cut.

For many doctors, low Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates are too much for their practices to bear, and in many states, these cuts affect Medicaid too.

"I have struggled to build up my practice, but my outlook gets worse each year," Dr. Tipsword said. "The current round of Medicare cuts -- which will cut my repayments, which are minuscule right now -- as well as increasing malpractice insurance coverage, despite an A+ rating, makes it less feasible for me to continue practice."

Danz View: The apparent DEM and GOP Congressional View: To hell with the old geezers, they've have their life, whack 'em, cut their bennies - it saves money for war and your safety ... they've had better days... now let the X, Y, or Z gen take over.

BTW: Why not outsource geezer's health care to say, BLACKWATER, Halliburton, or some telemarketers in China or India? Rx by fax, service call, or email. Hell, why not. People in Boston pay their traffic tickets on line via a service center in India... (that's a true statement, check it out).

America - changing too damn fast for anyone to keep up ... especially about anything traditional any longer, and I wonder: "Who or what is driving this madness?"
